Dec 14 december warmth at home and away

December days rush past quicker than we can keep up. I've lost all track of a timeline to share with you here, but little Vince keeps it real for us. All the changes in his first year! Maggie and I recently took him with us to shop for little toy gifts. I tried out all my choices for him and picked the ones he liked best while he was still sitting in the cart. He won't care that he already saw them - just as I might not remember where I put them. (They are sitting on the kitchen table still.)

In the hustle bustle of days, I made some new samplers for the shop including the Winter Birds piece above. Like my other holiday ornament samplers, it was easy to stitch and finish. Other designs are coming along slowly, but I do love the process of making these still. I have many many more ideas brewing.

And I just returned from my annual visit to Mohonk Mountain House where I led a pair of workshops for ornament making. The pine cone elves was a new workshop this year and by far, the largest class I've led. Over 40 people stopped in to make a little elf or angel from a pine cone. So sweet to see what they did with a few simple materials and inspirations.

Time to get out and find a little tree for my new place. And to find the ornaments I saved after the big downsizing. (Hmmm. They are not on the kitchen table.)
